POPPY DAY

On a bright, sunny morning on Sunday 13th November, Pedras LBC held its annual Poppy Day event.  Ten teams of triples each played three games of six ends each with fun rules such as only casting the jack once all the woods had been bowled or playing to a full-length jack and only counting woods that passed it.  The winners were Thea Tushuizen, Nick Gooch and Brian Holt.  As usual, Pedras da Rainha generously donated the green fees and so, with members' entry fees, €200 was raised for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
