Poppy Day Event – Sunday, 9th November

The Club’s annual Poppy Day event, held in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal, took place on the morning of Sunday, 9th November.

There was an excellent turnout, with 46 bowlers participating in the competition, which comprised seven triples and one pairs game, all played in fine weather and good spirits.

At 11:00 a.m., the two-minute silence was observed with due respect, conducted by Mr. Ian West.

The Club extends its sincere thanks to Mr. Ian West and Club Captain, Mr. John London, for their efforts in organising such a successful and meaningful occasion and also to Julie McBride, Social Secretary, for  arranging a well-attended lunch following the competition, which was greatly enjoyed by all.

An extra special thank you is also extended to Mr. Bob Bennie for creating and donating such a beautiful trophy, which added a wonderful touch to this memorable event.

The total amount donated by PLBC members to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal will be advised here once confirmation is received from the RBL.
